Proof of work - 25th January 2013

Today I worked on editing the other photo for the other side of my inside panel of the digipak and also the disk. I decided that I wanted to use a photo just of the main band member for this as he should have more attention brought to him and many other campaigns do this.

I started with changing the brightness of the photo, bringing the saturation down and the hue up.

I then changed the colour balance, making the photo more red.

I then put a lens flare on the photo to make a difference and bring attention to the light that he was holding as I imagined that this would look professional and very effective.

I really liked the effect that this had on the photo, especially the light beams near the top of the photo.

I decided that the photo needed a slight blur on it and decided that the gaussian blur looked the best after experimenting with all of the different blurs. I changed the radius to one pixel as this looked the best for this photo.

I then decided that this design that I just made would be used for the disk so had to re-edit the photo for the part of the digipak underneath the disk.

Firstly, I moved the brightness of the photo up and the contrast down.

I then changed the colour balance of the photo again making it more red.

I again thought that the photo looked too boring so again went onto www.textureking.com and downloaded two different textures and tested them both on top of my photo. When asking people which photo they preferred they told me that the liked the wood effect the best as it suited our outdoor theme and looked the most effective. Below is a photo of the texture that I chose in the end.

On the part of the digi-pak that I was using for the actual disk, I cut it out to make it the shape of a disk and also made the small circle in the middle.

After, for this image I put a film grain over the photo as this made it look a lot more effective.

Proof of work - 24th January 2013

Today, I have edited a photo for the inside cover of our digipak.

Firstly, I chose that I wanted to use a band picture and decided that this would look the most effective.

I then cropped the photo down to the size and shape that I wanted. I changed the colours slightly on the picture to be the right exposure and brightness that I needed and thought looked good.

I thought the picture looked a bit boring so chose a texture off the internet, www.textureking.com and saved this photo.

I copied this photo onto photoshop and made it a different layer. I had to copy to layer on top of the photo to make it visible and changed the opacity down to only 20% so that it wasn't too strong on my photo.

This is what the photo looked like about changing the opacity.

I then put an effect on the texture, a blur, to blur the texture to more blend in with my photo.

When I had finished I thought that this looked quite effective and fitted in with the brown colouring of my music video and front and back of digipak. I asked a few people within my target audience what they thought of this photo and they said that they felt that it fitted in well and looked good to the genre.

Proof of work - 22nd January 2013

Today, I signed our artist up for our wix website. I chose this template below as it is a template originally for a musician/band and I thought that I would be able to work well with this. Obviously, a lot will need to be changed to create it for our band!

These two above pictures are of the homepage, the background will need to be changed, the banner will need to be changed. The buttons will need to be changed to our font that we chose but we decided that we would keep these pages. I will need to change the photos in the gallery to photos that we took of our artist and I am thinking that it would look good if they were in a slideshow box. Underneath the music sub-title, I am going to upload our music video as well as having the song of our artist playing as soon as anybody goes onto our website.

This is the bottom of the page, it which I need to change to say that it is copyrighted by our production company 'FancyVision'. I want to remove the 'webmaster login' text and link up the facebook and twitter buttons to our artists social networking sites.

I have created a new page 'merch' as we think that this is an important aspect of promoting an artist and a way for us to make money. This is also a very common page that most professionals have on their web page.

I have moved the order of the pages and brought the merchandise page up as it is usually the contact page which is last.

These above pictures show that I have uploaded/linked the music video that we created onto our website below the music tab.

I have researched into small venues that our artist could feature at during their tour and have picked a popular time for artists to tour during and put their tour dates next to the location.

This is my first draft of something I could write in the 'info' pages text box to advertise our band. I looked at other artists info pages to see what they had to say about themselves and then wrote the above.

On the music page, I uploaded our music video again and am still deciding what to upload as other videos or possibly to not have this page at all as our artist only have this one video.

I have now changed the bottom of the pages showing that this website was copyrighted by our production company, 'FancyVision'

On the tour page, I too put the dates and venues on the right hand side. This seemed to be a bit of a struggle at first as the writing and pictures wouldn't go where I wanted it to go without going behind but I eventually got there!
